It’s our second stay and a great central location for York. Just a short walk over the bridge and you’re there. Food was great and the staff even better. All lovely. If you’re able, I suggest the upgrade for a river view - especially if it’s flooding, to watch the river levels.

We have stayed at the Queens hotel on many occasions, it is excellently situated in the heart of York beside the river Ouse so we tend to pay a bit extra for a river view room, the rooms are a little dated, however they are comfortable and spacious, my only niggle is the bathrooms they have a good sized bath with an over the bath shower, there is no safety hand rail to hold onto when getting into the bath and as this hotel has a lot of older guests (like myself) we have to clamber over the side of the bath to shower which can be a bit precarious. On the plus side the hotel is staffed with very helpful staff and has onsite parking which is a bonus in York, we would stay here again as it is in an excellent position to visit all the things in York and I would recommend a river cruise.

Room - Beautiful view of the river, comfortable, quiet, and clean Location - Close proximity to everything in York, so walking to restaurants, shopping, and attractions was possible. Breakfast/Dinner - N/A, we didn't eat at the hotel. Front Desk Staff - While not really too smiley/friendly, the front desk staff was helpful and hospitable. We had asked if we could get some coffee and were told it's usually only available with the purchase of breakfast, but we were invited to go into the restaurant and get coffee and let the breakfast staff know the front desk said it was okay.

We liked the location, the parking,which was charged, but a lot cheaper than other city centre hotels. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the hotel and rooms clean, I found the bed and pillows were comfy. They provide a very good breakfast and the evening meal ,we had on the night we ate in, was really good. There's a nice little bar and a lounge looking over the river, very nice outlook.All in all a really pleasant stay.

The breakfast was good, the staff pleasant, the view of the river lovely and entrance and reception very nice. Lift at the entrance for less mobile. Close to the centre and it's attractions. Near a lovely Italian restaurant and lots of places to eat and drink across the river within sight. 10 minute walk from the station. Hand wash and shower gel provided. Bed made and hospitality tray refilled. Enough storage and hangers for a couple of days. Bed a bit too soft but still comfy and quite large. Had 3rd floor river view room. Pleasant lounge with decent prices for drinks, bit small and can get quite busy. Would stay here again as near to everything without being noisy.

Excellent location, on the river & just a short walk from the city centre. Staff were friendly & efficient. Rooms were clean & well equipped, & ours was overlooking the river. Breakfast had a good range of hot & cold food & drinks. Pre booked parking which was good value for 24 hours. We would definitely stay again next time we're in York.

Great location and easy to get to from the station. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and the breakfast was great. All the staff were also very friendly.

This hotel is well located allowing easy access to the sites that most visitors come to York to see. We were fortunate to be able to secure a parking space (limited number available) in the parking level below the hotel, though we did not know this as we did not receive a response to the email that communicated to the hotel that we wished to reserve one of those spots (they had received the request and allocated a spot, but hadn't responded back). Bathroom, room, bed, etc. were all respectable. One minor annoyance was that there were no convenient electrical outlets near the head of the bed to which you could plug in laptop/Ipad or similar while lying in bed. While many of the locations we have stayed in the UK over a two-week holiday seemed to be recently refurbished, the QH has not. York was really partying hard the two nights we were there, but on the Queens Hotel side of the river, it was very peaceful.
