We had a fabulous 4 night stay over Christmas at this wonderful hotel situated right in the heart of York City, adjacent to the River Ouse and Bridge Street crossing the river into the city centre. It has a small underground car park (£18 per night, pre-booking is essential). The hotel is very clean, appears to have been recently refurbished. Our room was a Superior Double with River View which was excellent, very comfortable, spacious and had everything we needed. The bathroom was dated but okay to use. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, we had the cooked breakfast every morning which was delicious and plentiful. The bar area overlooked the river and city centre, plenty of seating although the bar could have been better stocked, especially with spirits – short on choice and quantity.

Lovely located hotel, 5-10 minutes walk from the middle of York. We stayed so that we could access the Xmas markets. This was very easy and close to the hotel. The river was in flood on our last day, so we had to move our car out of the car park early to avoid it being affected by river water. Had drinks in the bar on both nights, these were reasonably priced. Breakfast was a simple affair (hot and cold) but plentiful. Our room was very spacious and comfy, and had a super view of the river and city. Have already recommended the hotel to friends. Would stay again, good value for money.

Spacious room and comfortable bed. Its great to have the option of either a bath or shower, and the water pressure is really good for either. There is a good selection of food at breakfast too served buffet style. The food could be a little hotter but that's a personal preference. The coffee at breakfast is good too. It's filter coffee and a good strength which I like as I like my black coffee quite strong. In the evening the hotel bar has a nice view over the river.

Good location, on site parking useful but spaces are narrow… Central location, with an excellent view, especially in the bar, or on the balcony Staff were mostly lovely apart from the oriental lady.in charge of breakfast, wasn’t particularly friendly, one could say she was a little bit grumpy. Lot’s of eye rolling, and exasperated sighs. On our first morning we felt fairly uncomfortable. Perhaps she was feeling unwell or whatever, who knows?

Lovely location , with the lovely river view and just over the bridge is the town centre. We loved this Hotel. All The staff were so friendly and polite. The Hotel’s in such an ideal location we could walk everywhere in under 15 minutes. The Hotel is lovely and clean , and warm. There is a lift to the upper floors. The food was lovely, especially breakfast which was plentiful and varied.
